Named after the original US lesbian organization, Boston New Daughters of Bilitis is a social and political group for lesbian women in the greater Boston area. Primarily social, we will meet up for drinks, discussions, movie nights, or other outings, but with flexibility for group political/activist interests.
• Restricted to women. A picture is required but won't be judged, only to make sure you are not a robot or Santa Claus.
• This group is for lesbians. Members will be collectively referred to as lesbians (and/or women). We do not use "queer(s)" as a collective term. Additionally, all members will be assumed to be female-identifying; we use "she" pronouns as a default rule.
• This group supports the right of lesbians to define boundaries on their attraction and relationships. We vehemently believe that lesbians are NOT obligated to engage in relationships with certain groups in order to prove our allyship (aka "the cotton ceiling"), and that those boundaries must be respected.
• This group embraces lesbians of all presentations. Butches and femmes are more than welcome! As are those who don't identify with that :)
