We are a group of active individuals who enjoy the movements/exercises outdoors, and we are contributors to LITTER-FREE spaces. The word "Plogga" is a mash-up of "plocka upp" (pick up) + "jogga" (jog) in the Swedish language. As the name suggests, in this "treasure hunt" event, we will be moving on our feet while picking up loose trash in the parks, on the shores, especially plastics, which could easily choke up the rivers and oceans and endanger wildlife habitats and their well-being.
Our next plogging will take place on the Malden River, we'll meet at the Radio Station inside Wellington T Station parking lot, do a loop and finish at Night Shift Brewery for drinks and bites.
The Riverwalk on the Medford side is very accessible and has great views of the river. The riverwalk on Everett side might be under construction and if so, we would just stay on Medford side for plogging. I uploaded some pictures Jon took a while ago.
Temperature will be in the upper 60s, It is recommended to bring a light windbreaker jacket and a bit of water for hydration. As usual, gloves and trash bags will be provided.
