PowerShell User Group July Meeting - OneGet, PS Gallery, and Community Projects

Warren Frame will lead a discussion on how to simplify finding, installing, and publishing PowerShell modules and other packages using the down-level-compatible PowerShellGet and OneGet modules.

Along the way, we'll look at some helpful community projects available through these modules, and mention some solutions you can use for internal package repositories.

• All materials are published to GitHub and will be updated with any changes during the meetup

• We'll attempt to broadcast and record via Google Hangouts This is our first try, apologies for any technical difficulties

• Microsoft changed the name for OneGet to PackageManagement. I'll be using the old name given the lengthy and generic new name

* Thanks to Sapien Technologies for the pizza!

• This is a bit impromptu, and won't be a deep technical dive into the inner workings of PackageManagement

    Excellent Meetup. Thanks for giving me the extra floor time during the meetup. Looking forward to getting even more time to discuss PowerShell in October :)

    Hi all!

    Thanks for stopping by today, apologies if it was a bit last minute (heads-up-wise, and content-wise). If you have any feedback* definitely let me know!

    Will update the GitHub repo (linked in Notes section above) with links that came up during the meetup, e.g. the Azure Automation button in PowerShell Gallery.

    * Feedback outside of known issues:
    * Enunciate
    * Slow down
    * Use specific words, not 'stuff', 'thing', etc.
    * Make sure your demos work (e.g. Excel...)
    * Don't broadcast your private token
    * You forgot to tell Boe Prox, Carlos Perez, and Doug Finke that there modules were awesome
