Acting Out Algorithms (was (and still is) Something Super Cool)

I hope that's Lisp-y enough for ya!

Let's get a tactile feel for some algorithms before we code them. I'm still working out the details, but for an example of this that's way more ambitious than we'll attempt, check out this collection of sorting algorithms interpreted through Hungarian dance: https://www.youtube.com/user/AlgoRythmics/videos.

Yeah, it's not just gonna be cool, it's gonna be super cool (critical for July weather)

Wish I could make it, but 10 miles from the burbs by T is a bit much in this weather

We're going to play with variations on the Dining Philosophers problem. If anyone wants to check out the code we'll work with and/or port it to a different language of your choice, you can find it at https://github.com/srvance/DiningPhilosophers.

For Monday's fun, about half of us will need a Java environment and git. This shouldn't be a problem based on prior meetups.

Don't worry if you aren't fluent in Java. This is more about concurrent algorithms than language. A few fluent speakers should be enough.

I was going to make multiple languages available, but the amount of code and beauty of the weekend cut my ambition short.

I approve of the number of parentheses in the title.
