December BABA Meeting: honeyDNA, SmartHives, & more!

  • to
  • Best Bees Urban Beekeeping Lab

839 Albany St (rear), Boston, MA (map)

    42.360081 -71.058884

  • We are wrapping up 2016 with a talk from Dr. Noah Wilson-Rich, a founding partner, and the current Chief Scientific Officer, of The Best Bees Company!

This talk will overview the research and development progress from select projects at the Urban Beekeeping Laboratory, a 501(c)3 nonprofit research organization in Boston, affiliated with MIT. At the Lab, student interns assist with creating new projects, while also collecting and analyzing data for ongoing projects. We look at nontraditional means of reporting research results to the public, moving beyond strictly academic publishing to release results across media platforms, such as museums, innovation centers, speaking tours, citizen science programs, STEAM education curriculum, and even the Olympic Games. This talk will explore new data informing us about what our future with bees will look like.

This meeting is free for BABA dues-paying members. We suggest a $5 donation from non-dues-paying members to offset the cost of the meeting. Dues/donations go back to you in the form of educational programming and events!
