Why did you join this group?

I have had luck with other social meetup groups on this site and had heard that this was an interesting group to be a part of. So I thought I would give it a shot and see if it was a good fit :)

What is your favorite Anime, Japanese Film, or Manga? Why?

Well, while I hesitate to call it the best, the one film worthy of punishment for non-observation would have to be Ghost in the Shell. Therefore, my punishment for this crime would be to sit through the english dub of Escaflowne, in the original order released by Fox. (On second thought, just send the poor sod to solitary confinement at the next AB. Some punishments are just too severe.)

What would you like to see or do with this meetup group? What would you watch? Where would you go? Etc.

A movie like Tampopo on the big screen of the Coolidge Corner Theater followed by a habachi dinner at Osaka to debate what the best scene was.

How often do you watch/read Anime, Japanese films, and/or Manga?

I have had a lot of exposure to a wide variety of shows over the years, from mainstream to obscure. I spend quite a bit on my collection, which is still growing, but I'm more concerned about substance than style. Therefore, if there is a speciality limited edition box-set, then I'll probably wait for the thin-pack. The last Robot Anime that I purchased would be Code Geass R2, but for the most part, I'm in it for the plot twists and the explosions :)

Tell us a random fact about you or a comical story.

I spent about five weeks in Hokaido for a school exchange, and never had a bite of sushi. I did, however, enjoy my first beer at twenty during my an outdoor grilling party.

Hello, my name is Joseph. I'm a former librarian from my college anime club who has fallen behind the times of the cutting edge of the genre. I hope that greater exposure to fellow anime fans will expand my horizons once again!
