The Amazing Farming with "Food for Free" Event: 35 minutes from Boston

Dear Enthusiastic Boston Volunteers,

We've been helping donate food, work at food pantry's, serving soup kitchens etc but you might be wondering where these food coming from? Here is a great opportunity for us to work in the actual farm located in Lincoln, MA who provides nutrient-dense vegetables to pantries, meal programs, and shelters. I think its a fun filled event with hands on farm experience.

This is an outdoor event and will happen on a weekday morning. Please make sure that you have a car to reach there or willing to take commuter rail to Lincoln Station.

Address: Field of greens-10 Old Concord Rd, Lincoln, MA 01773

Date/Time: 22-Aug-12, Wednesday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Dress Code: Comfortable clothes (which you dont mind geting dirty) and shoes (for Safety)

Tools: will be provided by the Farm Crew

Directions by Car: Take I90 W, take exit 15 on I95, take exit 28B to merge onto Trapelo Rd, Turn left onto Baker Bridge Road, Turn left on to MA-126S/Concord Rd, Take 1st right onto old concord road. (I used highways for easy navigation, you can always look-up for different route)

Arriving via Public Transport: There is a 7 20 AM commuter rail from North station towards fitchburg/Acton line. Get down at Lincoln Station, and walk south on Lincoln road toward Lewis street, Turn right on Codman rd, Turn right on to MA-126S/Concord Rd, Take 1st right onto old concord road. Arrive at 10 Old concord rd.

    Fun. We picked lots of collards and carrots and saw the washed product trucked off to to the food bank, a satisfying end. Also, we took time for a leisurely stroll around Walden Pond on a beautiful day. What could be nocer?
