Location image of event venue

Due to the current crisis in Mali, where World Connection started working 15 years ago, a photo art show and benefit concert will be held at the Somerville Armory in Somerville, MA on Thursday, MAY 30 to assist musicians in Mali who can no longer make a living with their music. The evening’s entertainment will include Big Blue World and guests, Malian-led group SambaLolo, June Lapointe & Keith Kirkpatrick, and poet and performer Ayisha Knight, as well as photo exhibits of the past 15 years of World Connection’s community projects and musicians in Mali.

Faces, Places and Musicians of Mali photo art exhibit is on display at the Armory gallery from 4-7 pm on Monday through Friday, and by appointment, through June 15. Additional photographs on domestic life in Malian villages and towns can be found in the Armory Cafe.
