Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni ba at Johnny D's

Grammy nominee Bassekou Kouyate will be inducted into the Afropop Hall of Fame later on this month on September 19th in New York. If you can't make it to New York, he'll be at Johnny D's on the night before. Come out to see one of the great masters of contemporary West African music...and you can dance too.

What a show! I decided to go the day of the concert, and was blown away. So much energy on stage, I see why they were nominated for a Grammy!

I have to apologize for not being able to come at the last minute, something of an emergency for a close friend came up and I needed to help. I would not usually be a no show, and I so wanted to be there!

Johnny D's is all out of reservations for tables. Just an FYI.
