Please introduce yourself

Looking to meet like minded people and revolving dance partners, have been neglecting my first love of dance for too long. Studied African Dance in Senegal years ago; would like to take up Tango and Salsa dancing as well as just go to concerts and outdoor summer events. Looking forward to becoming more social and active, but takes a little courage to enter the over-50 singles scene, so I'm grateful to Meet-Up for providing such opportunities!

What type of music are you into. Please share your favorite (s) music, artist etc..

Hi, in my NYC past I was a world music impresario, managing such artists as Ravi Shankar, Pink Floyd, Indredible String Band, Hamza El Din; changed occupations--now teaching the Feldenkrais Movement Method for many years; although here in Boston I helped organize & manage "Ibrahima's World Beat" and owned the African store the "Talking Drum" for 6 love teaching movement and love to dance to the World Beat! Favorite artists; Baaba Maal, Youssou N'Dour, any artist from Mali (they are in trouble now, I'm looking for other any events which seek to help the musicians around also Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Tango, 'authentic movement' (no music except the internal)..still love the music of Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anoushka, as well as his other daughter Nora Jones!...World Music in general gets my blood circulating, meeting new people, and raises my spirts high!

Hi! Former Cambridge "Talking Drum" proprietor. Work in movement clinic @ Arlington, "The Hip Joint"; Feldenkrais, Bones for Life Teacher. Love to dance to African based World Music, love new venues, love going as a group to shows, much more fun!!

What Deborah Elizabeth L. is saying about this Meetup Group

It is very good, I haven't taken advantage as I could/should have. Hower, I did not get to meet anyone from Meet Up in the lobby as planned, so that was disappointing, perhaps we could have a better plan next time? HOwever, I met at least 20 friends from the last 20 years clustered around the front of the stage, and got to dance my feet off! But as the goal is to actually MEET new people, I would hope we could be more self-coordinating in future.
