Looking for photographic experiences with a difference in the Botanic Gardens here in Brisbane. Then this may be the group for you.
This is a group for photographers of all experience (beginners most welcome).
EACH SESSION WILL:
a. Involve a guided walk / talk about a particular part of the Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha here in Brisbane
b. From that walk / talk a particular type of photography will be pursued (say macro, bird, flower, plant shapes, leaf patterns, etc)
The sessions will be conducted by Paul Harrop and will be about 3 hours in duration.
I was an Education Officer at the Botanic Gardens here in Brisbane for just on 11 years (officially retiring in February 2019). This involved working with people of all ages: Prep to year 12 school children, university students as well as the general population.
I am also rated as an 'A Grade' photographer by my photographic club the 'Queensland Camera Group'.
I am particularly fond of nature and landscape photography.
I have taken many 1000's of images in the Botanic Gardens and am often asked by the Botanic Gardens' Team to do photographic work for them.
So if you are looking for a Botanic Gardens' experience with the chance to meet and interact with other photographers in the beautiful Botanic Gardens then this may be the group for you.
Being a host here on Meetup has a cost (about $300 Australian Dollars per year).
My thought is to conduct these sessions much like the 'Free Walking Tours' that occur in overseas cities and here in Australia.
At the end of the session participants are asked to make a donation to the host according to how much they enjoyed the session. This will help with the costs associated with the hosting of this group.
Everyone is welcome and expected to be respectful to others. We are all wanting to learn and share our passion for photography in one of Brisbane's most beautiful places. Inappropriate behaviour or discrimination will not be tolerated.
By participating in the sessions you are confirming that you are over 18 years of age and are fully responsible for your behaviour and the the organiser is not liable for your safety or your actions during the sessions.
