    Enchanted Mesa Trailhead is our July site! Wednesday July 10, 17, 24, and 31st What will we find when we look up close at this wooded trail under the majestic flatirons? Join a naturalist at The Enchanted Mesa/McClintock Trail head (behind the Chautauqua Auditorium) each Wednesday morning to find out. We’ll start with our favorite picture books then go for a kid-friendly hike. This program is geared toward 3- to 5-year-olds but all are welcome. Hats, sunscreen, snacks and water encouraged.

    Bring your favorite preschooler to our Discovery Corner for a hands-on introduction to the wonderful world of science, literacy and nature! Have fun learning together as you examine museum specimens, make crafts, hear a story and even make new friends! The program is free and each week will feature a different theme, so stop by monthly to experience a new wonder each time! Perfect for parents, grandparents and caregivers with children ages 2-5. This week we'll explore icy cold ice. Use the blubber mitt to see how penguins stay warm, paint an icy picture, and more. FREE!

    Join Open Space & Mountain Parks naturalist Dave Sutherland for a fun family-friendly geology hike for rock jocks ages 9 - 14 and parents, and explore the amazing rock layers at NCAR. Be prepared to crash like continents, flow like igneous rock, get buried in sediment, and handle fossils. Our rocks tell wild stories that include dinosaurs, glaciers, vast swamps, oceans and ancient mountain ranges now vanished into the dust of time. Meet at the NCAR trailhead, near the entrance to the NCAR building.
