Announcing the Smithsonian In-Motion Festival.  Ahhhh.... a film contest with no application fee! If you have filmed and edited a short, non-narrative movie or time lapse sequence since Jan. 2012; you might like to consider submitting it.

Smithsonian.com is looking for original videos that explore and document the world around us:

  • Documentaries — Find a subject and tell us a story
  • Timelapse — Use this technique to capture everything from cityscapes to plant life
  • Split-screen — Tell us any story you choose using multiple frames
  • Interviews — Capture people’s stories and experiences with "man on the street" interviews
  • Animation — Set an interesting personal or historical event to animation
  • Mobile — Shoot a video entirely on your phone

Find a story big or small and capture it on video.
