Hi folks, Given the ways we are trying to care for one another during the current health situation, First United Methodist Church will be closed for the immediate future as a part of their community response. We will be suspending practice while the church is closed.

Please see the online practice opportunities below. We will send out notifications when in person practice resumes.

In this interim period while our physical practice space is not available, we will be offering a Zoom conferencing-based practice session, Sunday evenings.
This will be a period of “Just Sitting” 6:30pm-7:15pm.

Somatic Meditation Practice Online-Tuesday Guided Practice

In this interim period while our physical practice space is not available, we will be offering a Zoom conferencing-based practice session for our Tuesday night guided practice and discussion. The online practice will be held Tuesdays 7:00pm-8:30pm.

**Discussion-
During the discussion period, we will be continuing with our contemplation and discussion of the fifty nine lojong slogans which are used to help us remember and focus on important principles and practices of mind training.

The below books may provide further resources for reading and contemplation of the lojon slogans:

Training the Mind, Seven Points of Mind Training and Cultivating Loving Kindness, by Chogyam Trungpa

Training in Compassion Zen Teachings on the Practice of Lojong, by Norman Fischer

Start Where You Are: A Guide to Compassionate Living, by Pema Chodron
