Riding and Camping in Fruita

Location visible to members

Details

Lets go out for a weekend of mountain biking and camping in Fruita, CO. Fruita is not as crowded as Moab, and I prefer it over Moab because there are many smoother trails that are just as beautiful and just as fun.

Most of the trails here are for Intermediate to Advanced riders. We can decide where to ride when we get there. I will bring some Fruita trail books. Also, here are some descriptions of the popular trails.

We will be car camping in the deser at the famous 18 Road trail network. The developed campsites cost $10/night, and come with pit toilets and fire rings. If someone can bring firewood, we can have a campfire. There are also restaurants in Fruita and Grand Junction if people want to go out to eat. Official BLM camping page:

The nearby Colorado River State Park has quarter-operated showers that are walking distance from the entrance, so bring $5-$10 in quarters if you want to shower.

Let's meet at the Park and Ride lot to facilitate carpooling. If you are planning on leaving Friday, let us know in your RSVP "comments".
