Snow Biking

Anybody interested in snow biking? This can be a LOT of FUN. Saturday, may be a good option. Probably still some snow left but no longer snowing. Good places would be Picture Rock, or if snow melts too fast, Walker Ranch.

Wish I could come, but I have to work..., Sundays work best for me. Looks like allot of fun; I'll have to look into the Muddy Marrys tires. Your right, reversing the tread really works great for snow and adverse terrain..... HAVE FUN!

Looks like potentially perfect conditions: crunchy cold snow for good traction. It will be cold.

Do you need one of those snow bikes withcrazy big tires or do you think it can be done with a regular bike? Like riding thru sand probably....

You definitely do not need a special bike with super big tires. You DO need to be open to a bit of adventure. It does help to replace any worn out tires with the widest tires fitting your bike's frame. Downhill and Freeride tires work well. I have really good experience with Schwalbe Muddy Marrys (2.35 or 2.5" if they fit). You can find the at places like the Fix in Bouder. For best results install them reverse (sharp edge for grip instead of ramp for reduced rolling resistance). Super Fun!
