This sunrise outing is about the art of creative composition applied in the field. Regardless of whether you attended the "creative compositions" classroom presentation or not, this field session will help you take your compositional confidence to the next level!
In this two hour shoot, I will offer all participants 3 different compositional field assignments. Assignments will include the following:
• Wide-angle lens assignment
• Subject isolation assignment
• Long lens compression assignment.
After each assignment, you'll receive immediate feedback in the field and an opportunity to reshoot until your happy with the results. Shoot-learn-reshoot, it's the best way to learn the art of composition.
If you have a camera, tripod and some lens please bring them. (Focal range anywhere from[masked]mm would be ideal,) One lens covering the entire range is fine, otherwise, bring two or more separate lenses.
However, the camera is not required. I will provide a demo composition for each assignment with my camera. Bring your tripod if you have one, but it is not required.
We'll all meet at the South Mesa Trailhead at 7 am. It's likely to be cool before sunrises so dress in layers and bring a hat and gloves. Also, please bring good hiking shoes, a water bottle, sunglasses, and eyeglasses if you need them to see your LCD. You may also want to bring a pen and notebook to take notes.
Refund Policy: If the weather is bad (high winds or rain) we'll receive a full refund. The group will be limited to 8 participants.
I hope to see you on November 9th.
Enjoy the fall colors!
