BSFWW is an active writer's group that reads and critiques each other's work every two weeks. As speculative fiction writers often find our work misunderstood in 'regular' writing workshops, so a literary writer might find themselves out of place here.
We meet every over Wednesday in Boulder at either the cafe in Lucky's Market or at a member's house, spending two hours to workshop two pieces.
Submissions are limited to about 5k words, so a chapter or two from a novel or a short story. Novels we serialize it over the course of a few months (or arrange individually to have the whole piece read). Standard critique rules apply: be polite, constructive, and own all your responses as personal opinion. We distribute pieces via email, and comments are welcome physically and electronically.
We do require a writing sample before acceptance into the group to make sure you're a good fit. Once you apply, we'll message you through meetup to chat about what you're looking for in a group and your writing, so watch your meetup messages.
It's FREE. Your labor pains in writing a piece and critiquing the others are payment enough. Contact Laura at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information or questions.
