What we're about
BSFWW is an active writer's group that reads and critiques each other's work every two weeks. As speculative fiction writers often find our work misunderstood in 'regular' writing workshops, so a regular writer might find themselves out of place here.
We meet every second Tuesday - location has been shifting recently while we find a new spot as our original location closed - but we meet in Boulder or Louisville currently, spending two hours to workshop two pieces, along with a professional short story to warm up with, then go for dinner or drinks afterwards, if members are so inclined.
Any length piece is welcome, though if it's more than ten thousand words we'll have to serialize it over the course of a few months (or arrange individually to have the whole piece read). Standard critique rules apply: be polite, constructive, and own all your responses as personal opinion. We distribute pieces via the meetup files area, and comments are welcome physically or electronically.
We do require a writing sample before acceptance into the group to make sure you're a good fit.
It's FREE. Your labor pains in writing a piece and critiquing the others are payment enough. Contact Levi, Laura, or Katheryn for additional information.
