- (International) Bolivia Mountaineering Expedition 2017
Located near the city of La Paz, the Cordillera Real offers some of the best mountaineering in South America. Easy access, stable weather, excellent climbing conditions, interesting culture and relatively easy to moderate routes makes this a good place to start climbing peaks over 14,000'. We would go down for aprox two weeks (with prior acclimatization here in CO) somewhere between June and August. Prices would range somewhere between $1500- 2500 pp, not including airfare, but I'm still working on logistics. Looking for 2-3 climbers to form a rope team. Prior experience with; snow/ glacier travel, crevasse rescue and Avy level 1, 2 or both. Wilderness First aid, WFR or other medical training is a bonus. Spanish would be incredibly helpful. Possible objectives; Pequeno Alpamayo (17,618), Huayna Potosi (19,974) and Illimani Pico Sur (21,125). These are not technically hard and are fairly strait forward peaks. However they are challenging due to the high altitude and glacier travel.
