    TYPE: Hike | PACE: Fitness/Conversational | TERRAIN: Dirt trails | DISTANCE: Approx. 3 miles | Walk Description: This hike follows a scenic loop on the Shanahan Ridge Trail and the Mesa Trail in South Boulder. Depending on the weather and trail conditions, we will either walk the entire Shanahan Ridge-Mesa Trail loop (3.2 miles) or the shorter Shanahan Connector loop (2.4 miles), both of which offer a good workout and great views. It's an invigorating hike to jump-start your day. Come out for a moderately paced walk and good company! Great Options for Getting There: Take the Skip bus to the Lafayette stop, or drive and park along Lehigh. Thanks to a grant from the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), we are offering a five-week bilingual (Spanish/English) series. Starting Monday, April 22, not only will you strengthen your body, but you will also join forces with our friends at City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks to become stewards and protectors of our open spaces. We will kick off the event with a Forest Bathing Experience at Chautauqua Park, Boulder, on Monday, April 22 at 12:30 PM-2:30 PM to honor Earth Day. The next three Mondays, April 29, May 6 and 13 at 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM, we will walk and strengthen our body with Walk2Connect’s own fitness coach, Sarah Schwallier and our friend Angela Maria Ortiz Roa, for an hour and a half of conditioning, walking, and talking at Wonderland Lake, 4201 North Broadway in Boulder. Description: Join us for this unique blend of morning trek and yoga, or participate in just one part or the other! Start with beautiful views through the foothills of N. Boulder, a loop around Wonderland Lake and the chance to reflect briefly in silence during a small incline on the return path. Stretch out afterward with gentle yoga for injury prevention and renewed energy. Optional tea and snack will follow the yoga class, rotating at local cafes nearby.     TYPE: Same Time, Same Place Monthly | PACE: Fitness/Conversational | TERRAIN: Sidewalks, packed dirt road | DISTANCE: Approx. 4 miles | Walk Description: This 4-mile fitness walk connects Harlow Platts Park and Tantra Park along multi-use paths, and follows the wide, well-maintained dirt road and trails around the CU South Campus land. It's a beautiful place to start the day, with great views of the mountains. Note that this walk IS stroller-friendly, particularly for jogging strollers or others with larger wheels, but the trail can get quite muddy. Come out for a moderately paced walk and good company!
