Walk Description: Please join us on Thursday, Dec. 8, to celebrate Summit Middle School’s 20th Anniversary and grand opening of their redesigned school campus, as well as the completion of the Safe Routes to School-funded multi-use path on Hanover Avenue. Boulder Walks will host a family-friendly, 1-mile stroll around the neighborhood and along the path, and everyone is invited.

Meet walk leader Darcy Kitching at 3:30 at the start of the multi-use path on Tantra Ave., at the fence on the eastern periphery of the Summit Middle School campus. You can view a map of the walk route here. The 30-minute walk will end at the city’s booth at Hanover Avenue and 46th Street, where participants can enjoy cookies, cider and special giveaways to mark the completion of the new multi-use path. Afterward, visit Summit’s celebration between 4 and 5 p.m., and take a tour of the redesigned school campus (tours begin at 4:00 and 4:30).

Schedule and Planning: Park at Summit Middle School, or take the bus to Table Mesa and Tantra Dr. We'll meet at 3:30 pm and start walking by 3:35 pm. The walk will finish by 4:15 pm.

Walking Movement Leader: Darcy Kitching is a professional member-owner of the Walk2Connect Cooperative and the Walk2Connect Boulder program manager.
