We walk at a casual pace and invite all fitness levels to join us. Golden Ponds trail will let us explore the natural beauty of the mountains and possibly even see some bald eagles. This is a bilingual (Spanish and English) walk. Walking Movement Leader: My name is Cherry G. Dominguez. I’m the oldest of five girls. I was born in Denver and raised in Longmont. I’m happily married for 19 years and have two wonderful daughters and two Chihuahua dogs. I work full-time for as a medical assistant. One of my hobbies is teaching Aqua Zumba through the Longmont Rec Center. I’ve taken walking and hiking as an enjoyable exercise to connect with nature and my community. Thank you for being part of my journey. Schedule: We will meet at 7:00PM at the parking lot of Rogers Grove Park, the entrance on Hover. We'll have a fun adventure and get some great exercise - a wonderful way to start the day!   • Fitness Walk Beginning at Foothills Community Park

    TYPE: Same Time, Same Place Monthly | PACE: Fitness/Conversational | TERRAIN: Packed dirt multi-use path, sidewalks, and dirt trail | DISTANCE: Approx. 4 miles Walk Description: This fitness walk is held the second Tuesday of every month; beginning and ending at Foothills Community Park near the restrooms and the dog park, going south along multi-use paths onto sidewalks in the Wonderland Hills neighborhood, and looping back north on the Foothills Trail, taking a short side trip (less than a mile) on the Old Kiln Trail. Along the way, hikers will see some beautiful views of Wonderland Lake, the foothills, and the eastern plains. The route includes gentle hills, with little, but some, elevation gain. Walking Movement Leader: Lorrie Johnson lives in North Boulder and is eager to share the beautiful surroundings with other people. Schedule and Planning: There are two parking lots at Foothills Community Park: We will meet at the parking lot near the restrooms adjacent to the dog park on 7th Street. This walk is also accessible by the SKIP bus, which stops at Broadway and Violet; the Park is a few blocks west of Broadway. We'll meet at 9:30 am and begin walking at 9:35. The walk will end by 11 am. Trip Notes: ~ Be sure to bring water, sun protection, and wear appropriate clothing for the season. For winter walking, wear breathable layers, a hat, and bring non-slip shoe cleats or wear boots with good traction. ~ Dogs on short, non-retractable leashes are welcome. Description: Join us for this unique blend of morning trek and yoga, or participate in just one part or the other! Start with beautiful views through the foothills of N. Boulder, a loop around Wonderland Lake and the chance to reflect briefly in silence during a small incline on the return path. Stretch out afterward with gentle yoga for injury prevention and renewed energy. Optional tea and snack will follow the yoga class, rotating at local cafes nearby. This monthly event is dedicated to connecting to ourselves and our community. Offered First Thursday of every month, year round.
