Friday skiing/boarding at Winter Park or Copper

I am planning to take advantage of all this new snow before the weekend crowds hit. Since I have the Copper/WP pass, I'll be going to one of those areas, trying to get an early start. Depending on who else is going, I could either snowboard, alpine ski, or tele. Send me a message if you're interested. Today and tomorrow are cold and windy up there, but on Friday it's supposed to be warmer and sunnier.

I know this event already happened, but I have a Copper/Winter Park/Steamboat pass, too. :) I'll have quite a bit of weekday availability from mid-March onward...and some other mid-week availability before then. I also have an untouched 4 pack for Keystone/A-Basin, so I'm planning to use that late season, depending on conditions. I might make it up to Eldora for one or two half days between now and mid-March. In case you don't know, there's a ski bus that has a stop at the Wooly Mammoth lot (section DD, but you have to reserve in advance) at 7:50 Thu-Sun called The Front Range Ski Bus. It goes to Loveland, Copper, Keystone & A-Basin. It's $35 round trip and Thursdays and Fridays are 2 for 1. They also offer discounted lift tix for people who don't have passes. I rode up to Copper on it on Friday and had a great experience. I won't have many days free to ride it this month, but want to spread the word. I'd love to help keep their business going strong...they just started last winter.

Hi Lily - I am just joining the club. I also like to ski Alpine. If you are leaving later, what time are you thinking?

Meeting another Boulder/Denver grey wolf member @ 7:45 at Wooly Mammoth across from Conoco at B parking. And maybe Charlie Khoury. (Then any stragglers at Solitude station mid-mtn for lunch at 12:30 by the main floor counter. Hope this is ok to post.) Tomorrow is my first ski day this year.

I think I'll ski Copper Saturday due to work commitments.
But I ski at Copper about once a week, so I would be glad to meet-up another time at Copper. Let me know!

We'll probably need another driver besides me. Who can drive?

OK, let's try to leave the Savers lot by 7:00. Whoever has room can pick Charlie up at Wooly Mammoth at 7:30. Charlie, please post you phone number. Mine is[masked]

Hi Steve, 7:00 would be fantastic! Also, I would love to come back at 3 too. May I ride with you?

    January 31, 2013

  • Steve

OK, there seems to be more folks for Copper, so let's go there. We can sort out carpooling at the parking lot. Is 6:30 too early? I'm willing to do 7:00. I just want an early start because I have to quit a bit early. I have a bronze colored Kia Sorrento with a Thule box on top. I can take 3 others comfortably (or even 4, if necessary). If you are not planning to meet at the Savers lot, post a message so we don't wait for you. And update your RSVP if you change your mind. Thanks.

what time are you planning on leaving Copper?

      January 31, 2013

  • Lili

Hi Steve, I"m going but I'm not sure we'll make it by 6:30. We are skiing alpine at Copper. 2 or maybe 3 of us.

    January 31, 2013

  • Melissa

OK, let me know which ski resort you decide on Steve.

    January 31, 2013

I'm not sure yet about Copper vs. Winter Park. Cindi is already at WP, but a couple people only have Copper passes. Through most of the season, Winter Park has had better snow, but Copper seems to be catching up. Regarding carpooling, I'll need to leave the ski area by 3:00 due to Friday evening plans.

  • Melissa

Are you going to Copper or Winter Park? I have a pass to Copper only.

    • Richard M.

Yeah, mine is Copper only too.
