What we're about

We believe the more diverse education styles a child is exposed to the more well-rounded they will be as learners and as people when they grow up. We are looking to make a network of people who want to share their expertise in homeschooling, whether it be different subjects, different styles of teaching, different ways of looking at the world, or simply different locations for children to learn in!

If you are interested in helping to teach, simply having your kids participate, or anything in between please join and help us grow a fabulous network for all our kids to learn and grow.

We will be mainly using a modified form of the Reggio Emilia approach which focuses on putting the children in the drivers seat of their own learning. This is accomplished by allowing children to decide exactly what they want to learn about and the teacher/parent is used as a challenge and feedback system as the child explores a myriad of facets around what they have decided to learn about. This entails long, project based learning systems that enables a child to really delve deeply into many different areas of an idea while applying all typical school subjects to that project.

Children of all ages are welcome, no kid is too old or too young. Any individual under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all events, and at all times. This is not intended as a daycare or place you drop your children off.

Storytelling, acting and reading

Allen Pond Park

Reading and learning to read become so much more fun and so much more active when we do it with others. We will be using our current project to read books together, tell stories that we make up and use our imaginations to create plays and short skits to bring everything to life. This will be a weekly ongoing project based event. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Bi-weekly dinner and planning

Get together and discuss the plans for the next two weeks, discuss education theory, and just generally get to know each other better. Great opportunity for a playdate for the kids. We plan to do a project based system very similar to the Reggio Emilia approach. These biweekly dinners will be a good place to discuss how we want to structure the projects and what the general topic of the project will be for the coming weeks and months. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Martial Arts, Hoop Dancing, Yoga, and Sports

Allen Pond Park

Physical activity in a structured way is incredibly important for kids development. Martial arts, yoga, and sports are all fantastic ways for children to express themselves physically and learn about history, culture, and to improve physical fitness and dexterity. This will be a weekly event and will include quite a bit of historical diving and learning. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Playdate at Allen Pond

Allen Pond Park

Just a casual get together to let the kids play and learn at the Allan Pond playsets. Social learning and play are some of the most important building blocks, this will be a weekly event or maybe even more frequent if enough people show interest.
