Many of you have been asking for another trip to Fall Creek Falls, so let's do it again in 2019! We will take a weekend to camp and explore the beautiful waterfalls and some of the 56 miles of scenic hiking trails in Fall Creek Falls State Park (http://tnstateparks.com/parks/about/fall-creek-falls) in the Cumberland Plateau region near Pikeville, Tennessee. We'll hit the trails Friday afternoon and resume our hiking early Saturday morning with a trek down to the base of the Fall Creek Falls, so plan to spend Friday and Saturday nights at the park. We will hike as many trails as we can including to the base of Fall Creek Falls waterfall and the Gorge Overlook Trail, the Prater Place Trail to Hemlock Falls, to Piney Falls along the Lower Loop Trail and the optional infamous Cable Trail. You won't want to miss the Falls Creek Scenic Drive with short hikes to panoramic views like the one at Buzzard's Roost. https://tnstateparks.com/parks/activity-detail/fall-creek-falls-hiking Saturday evening we will have a shared camp dinner, so brush up on your favorite Dutch Oven delicacy or bring something to throw on the grill. You are responsible for making your own reservations at this link: https://tnstateparks.com/parks/campground/fall-creek-falls?fbclid=IwAR2QwSKJCq0XC1H4zgze8X_6YDr9g3DO2pneyAobNIvLOshwIr72MdEstnk . Try to get a site in Campground Area B close to B76. Please make reservations early to ensure that you have a place to stay. The park is a three-hour drive from Bowling Green. This is a big park and it will be necessary to drive to the trail heads; reserving sites near other members of our group will make it possible to carpool. Camping only this year as they have torn down the old lodge to rebuild. Details to be posted later. Disclaimer: Meetup organizers/leaders are not guides.
