Coal Export Action in Helena AND Bozeman this week!

From: Kristen W.
Sent on: Sunday, August 12, 2012 12:52 PM
Starting August 13 to 20, Coal Export Action is holding an eight-day sit in at the state Capitol, calling on Land Board members to find alternative state funding and block Arch Coal's application to mine at Otter Creek, and the coal trains and pollution that would come with it.
For those of us who can’t make it up to Helena this week:

Join together in Bozeman at the Gallatin County Court House steps,
Main St across from the Willson School
12 noon to 1 Monday through Friday, August 13 to 17
Support the people and purpose of the Coal Export Action in Helena

Give handouts to passersby and hold up signs.

Make your own sign or come to Frank Little’s Monday 8/13 or Tuesday 8/14 at 11am to make a sign. (Frank Little's the Wildfire Collective's garage converted to action center, located on the NE side of the alley between Babcock and Olive and 8th and 9th St., near the old Coop.) Attached are flyers on the Bozeman and Helena Coal Export Action to post. Handouts on Coal Trains coming soon.

News flash: Since the Chronicle editorial came out in support of the city requesting a PEIS from the Army Corps of Engineers, join members of Bozeman Community Coal Action who are going to the City commissioners’ meeting Monday August 13  at 6pm to request to get on the agenda for next Monday August 20. Signs at noon Monday can keep the pressure on.

For those of you who’d like to go to Helena, there’s still time to:

Make History August 13-20 in Helena – Stand with Montanans Against King Coal! Sign up for one or more days of rallies (10am and 2 or 3pm till 5 or 6pm) and direct action (preferably get there 7pm the night before for training) at Contact Kristen Walser at[masked] or [address removed], for carpool information.
