Bozeman Climate Alliance Message Board › Thank you for participating and invitation to the next steps

Dear Bozeman Climate Alliance,
Many enthusiastic thanks for attending the Bozeman Climate Alliance meeting on Tuesday, May 22. About 40 people came out and we're grateful that so many were willing to spend so much time with us (subsequent monthly meetings will be shorter). There's great interest in addressing this problem and we're determined to facilitate meaningful and effective participation.
To that end, we invite you to participate in the next step for the Bozeman Climate Alliance:
As mentioned at the last meeting, we'll hold a meeting next week to discuss how strategic decisions are to be made about the work of the group. The meeting will take place at 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 30 at Nick Bentley's house. You can RSVP at the event page here.
Provisionally, there's a steering committee, composed of a small number of people who make the decisions by consensus after taking input from all parties. The question is: should the process be different? At the meeting we'll discuss the pros and cons of different management methods and come to a final decision about the method to be used. Of course, the method by which we come to that decision must be specified as well. We'll post more about that on the event's page soon.
Next, some follow-up materials in from the meeting:
To help us better understand your interests, we've set up a survey where we invite you to indicate your interest in working on various projects discussed at the meeting.
Take the survey here (this is optional - no pressure).
Here are the complete meeting minutes, including summaries of break-out group points.
Here are the slides from the presentation (powerpoint)
If you have feedback about the format of the meeting or an idea about what you'd like to see in subsequent meetings, please let us know. We feel there are many improvements to made and we wish to make them without delay.
At the meeting we also promised to start a facebook group for the Bozeman Climate Alliance, and so here it is.
Finally, Nick loves to go out for coffee/lunch/dinner/drinks to discuss Climate Change and related projects, so if you're interested in doing so, let him know (firstname.lastname@example.org).
