What we're about
The Bragg Creek Woodland Walking Meetup is quick and easy-to-moderate hiking for adults of all ages to enjoy walks on the West Bragg Creek trail network. We are Woodland Walkers who are like-minded in one thing: we wish to take an hour or two out of our day to get out in nature for some fresh air and exercise. Hikes will be offered year-round, weekends and weekdays, will be 1 - 4 hours, and will usually less than a 500m elevation gain, as a general guideline.
Many winter hikes can be enjoyed in regular boots however hikers may require snowshoes or spikes at times, weather depending. So please come prepared for many types of weather and terrain.
Summer hikes will be easily done in runners or hiking boots.
This group serves the local Bragg Creek Community and also welcomes folks from Calgary and surrounding communities, and anyone looking to enjoy a some exercise out in nature.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
There is no membership fee at this time.
NOTE: Members are welcome to join the team as a hiking-planner. Also cross-country skiing could be included from time-to-time. I am just learning to cross-country ski so haven't included that in the description. I would be happy to have someone in our group take the lead on x-country skiing.
