(Hashers on a Santa Dash in Sydney, Nov 24th 2012)
Bratislava Hash House Harriers is hosting a 'Christmas Markets & Santa Dash'. It's our first 'Santa Dash' in Bratislava so grab a cheap Santa suit from any party shop and come on down. A bunch of Santas running through the streets of our 'Little Big City' is sure to turn a few heads!
We will follow a trail laid by one of our group in flour, stopping for some Santa fun & refreshments along the way. This is not competitive at all. You can run or walk - it's a great way to meet people and is just pure fun! The trail will take approximately an hour, maybe less!
Hashing started in Malaysia in 1938 and is known as a 'drinking club with a running problem'. It's a very popular expat activity across the 2000 hash groups around the world and has absolutely nothing to do with its suspicious sounding name!
Start? Meet up outside Bar 17s on Hviezdoslavovo námestie (opposite US Embassy). If anyone has bags to drop, please arrive 15 minutes early to store them in Santa's grotto.
After the trail we'll have fun drinks (including a special mulled wine recipe!) and snacks and then head onto 'Pod Kamennym Stromom', a friendly basement bar where beers are cheap. For latecomers, it's on Sedlarska, directly opposite the French Embassy & next to Cafe Pressburg, just off Hlavne Namestie, the Main Square.
Cost? Just 5 euros to cover drink stops, bucket beers & snacky bits. Plenty of options for more cheap drinks & delish food at the Markets.
Everyone's welcome. We already have Santas flying in from across Europe!
Free jingle bells for the first 20 Santas to confirm they're coming!
Please rsvp and drop me a message if you have any queries.
Hope you can join us!
