Welcome to Tokyo - Japan’s capital is a dazzling mixture of everything traditional and modern. Neon-lit skyscrapers and ancient temples and shrines are blended together in a country that is passionate about their culture and traditions but also stays on top of everything that is new and fashionable. You will be welcomed by your English speaking guide and travel on public transportation to Hotel Listel Shinjuku in Tokyo. Enjoy the rest of evening free at your leisure.

    Day 2:

Wake in the morning to meet with your English speaking guide to begin a full day of Tokyo sightseeing. Visit the Asakusa Kannon Temple which is Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple. Next check out the Nakamise Dori street full of shopping and the best place to buy souvenirs. You’ll be amazed by the colourful fashion of the famous Harajuku district. Next visit the Meiji Shrine which is located in a beautiful 170 acre forest. There are[masked] trees of 365 species donated by people from all over Japan. This is the Shinto shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shokene. You will also take some time to visit Yoyogi Park which is a popular spot for artists and activity groups to meet and relax. It was the home of the athletes village during the 1964 Olympics. Also take in the organized chaos of Shibuya Crossing, arguably the busiest and most famous intersection in the world. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore on your own.

    DAY  3

Set off on a full-day excursion tour by private bus to Kamakura. See Kotoku-in, a Buddhist temple that enshrines Kamakura Daibutsu, also known as The Great Buddha. The Great Buddha is a massive copper statue that weighs 121 tons and is over 11 metres high. It is a unique National Treasure. Next visit the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shopping district. Then experience a traditional Tea Ceremony and tasting in Kamakura. Enjoying a traditional green tea and ceremony is a must when in Japan!

    DAY  4

Today spend half of the day exploring the Edo Tokyo Museum which vividly illustrates the past of Tokyo. In an interactive way, visitors are able to experience and learn about various aspects of earlier Tokyo, such as the way of life of people from the Edo period. Through numerous models of towns, figurines and life-sized figures, the museum makes it interesting to learn about how towns were constructed in the past. There are also many artefacts such as kimono gowns, paintings and everyday materials that help transport visitors through time in a fun way.

    DAY  5

Leave the hotel for Kawaguchiko by private bus. Experience the Kachi Kachi Yama Ropeway which takes you 1000 metres above sea level to an observation deck with spectacular views of Mt Fuji.
