Internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and singer Alexandre Grooves stops by Queens on his 2009 US tour. Grooves' debut solo project, “Amanhã eu não vou trabalhar” (Tomorrow I'm not going to work), features Seu Jorge, Maurício Manieri, and Céu.
His sound mixes the new and the old, Pop and Brazilian music with a singular subtlety and swing.
Grooves has been getting international attention since going solo, as a Latin Grammy Nominee in 5 categories and iTunes' pick for best Brazilian record in 2007. Grooves has performed with well known Brazilian artists Maurício Manieri, Seu Jorge, Cláudio Zoli, and Jair Oliveira, and has featured Wilson Simoninha, Luciana Mello, Maurício Manieri, Milton Guedes, Gabriel Moura and other internationally known Brazilian artists in his own live shows.
