Opened in 1987, Maitri is the only AIDS-specific residential care facility in California focusing on those dying of, or severely debilitated by, AIDS. With 15 beds, its skilled professionals and dedicated volunteers provide its residents compassionate residential hospice, respite and 24-hour nursing care, especially to those who might otherwise be without adequate resources. Maitri has been the final home for more than 900 people who lived with AIDS.
Maitri is one of the Bridgemen’s favorite community service partners and we have done several service events there. This time, we will be helping them with some general facility maintenance. Painting is often involved, so please dress accordingly. If there’s sufficient interest, we could all go to brunch together afterwards.
Please wear a Bridgemen T-shirt if you have one. If you don’t yet have a Bridgemen T-shirt, please tell Alex your T-shirt size BEFORE 5 PM, 08/24/18, so that I know to bring one for you.
If you have questions about this event, please contact Bridgemen Coordinator Alex Ray here on Meetup, by email at [masked] or by cell phone at[masked]
