Nature in the City is a community nonprofit that was established in 2005 to build, strengthen and unify the movement to conserve San Francisco's natural areas and restore biological diversity. Nature in the City seeks to catalyze ecological restoration and stewardship in San Francisco by connecting urban people and nature.

The Bridgemen are proud to partner with Nature in the City once again and join them for their upcoming project: Backyard Natives Nursery & Habitat Restoration Workshop. They plant each winter to refresh the habitat sites in the Green Hairstreak Corridor. The Green Hairstreak Corridor is an area of land designed to be habitable to the locally-endangered Green Hairstreak Butterfly. The butterfly can only fly a few hundred feet from its original habitat, so creating a range of habitable land for the butterfly is essential to its survival.

Gloves and tools will be provided. Please wear sturdy shoes, sun protection and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Please also wear a Bridgemen T-shirt. If you don’t yet have a Bridgemen T-shirt, please tell Alex your T-shirt size BEFORE 5 PM, 11/16/18, so that he knows to bring one for you.
