DISCLOSURE: THIS IS A VOLUNTEER EVENT, NOT AN OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT.
Since their solemn performance on the steps of San Francisco City Hall on November 27, 1978, on the occasion of an impromptu memorial for Mayor George Moscone and City Supervisor Harvey Milk, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC) has been a community organization rooted in San Francisco. They perform over 50 concerts each year, including many that directly benefit local social justice and healthcare-related nonprofit organizations. Community involvement is an active part of their mission.
On June 21, 2019, come celebrate Pride Weekend with the Bridgemen and SFGMC! Marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which began on June 28, 1969, and commemorating San Francisco’s own Compton Cafeteria Riot which occurred in 1966, SFGMC will honor those who helped catapult the gay rights movement into the public forum coast to coast. The concert will feature beloved gay anthems, as well as songs that pay tribute to the themes of strength, perseverance, and acceptance. It will also feature special guest appearances from many of San Francisco’s celebrity drag queens!
The Bridgemen will be assisting SFGMC at their concert with the following: lobby ambassadors / floaters, merchandise, ushering and patron services. After volunteering, we will be able to enjoy the show together! Details about dress code and other matters to follow.
