Urban Hike: Forest Hill/GG Heights Park Hop

The Bridgemen and 50-Plus groups are taking another urban hike in San Francisco! This time we’ll take a walking tour of 4 small parks in the Forest Hill and Golden Gate Heights neighborhoods. If there’s sufficient interest, we could also walk a couple more blocks to see the lovely tiled Moraga Steps.

We’ll meet at Forest Hill Muni Station at 11 AM. This event will be B.Y.O.L. (Bring Your Own Lunch), so please arrive with your food and beverage, ready to go. From there we’ll walk west towards Hawk Hill Park and then head north to Golden Gate Heights Park, Rocky Outcrop Park and finally to Grandview Park, with its stunning, sweeping views of Golden Gate Park below. According the Google Maps, the total distance there and back is about 3 miles with a total elevation gain of about 550 feet. We’ll try to have our lunch at Grandview Park, but if it’s too windy, we can backtrack to one of the other parks that has less wind exposure.

Things to bring:
-- Food and drink for yourself. Remember to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated!
-- Sunscreen and/or a hat.
-- Jacket and/or layers if it’s chilly.
-- Blanket to sit on (I can bring 3 lightweight picnic blankets from Strut; I just need help carrying them all).
