This is a group for anyone interested in learning or improving their Spanish language skills.
This group is aimed at total beginners all the way to low lntermediate (B1) learners on the CEFR.
We meet weekly on Mondays and Tuesday nights for lessons. We focus on going over vocab and tricky aspects of grammar.
Our focus is on going beyond what you learn in phrase books, instead using a wide variety of words and phrases that you would use on an everyday basis, slang, idioms and colloquial phrases of both Castellano Spanish and Latino Spanish.
We also focus on perfecting grammar, especially practicing when to use which tenses and conjugation practice to get you having proper conversations asap!
Classes are split into 3 levels, please read the descriptions carefully and decide what class is best suited for your current level (drop me a message if you have any doubts):
Complete Beginners (no prior knowledge of Spanish) focuses on greetings, pronouns, basic vocabulary such as family, pets, colours, numbers, household objects, food, basic adjectives , the present tense, clothes, "to be" - ser and estar
A1 & A2 level will focus on: "Ir a" future tense and simple future tense, the perfect tenses, the personal "a", how to use gustar and reflexive verbs, direct and indirect object pronouns, conditional tense, imperfect tense, sino vs pero, qué vs cual and vocab topics such as weather, pastimes, telling the time.
The intermediate group (B1 level) will focus on: Preterite tense, verbs that change meaning in the preterite, preterite vs imperfect, imperative tense, subjunctive tenses, por vs para, more verbs like gustar, idioms, slang and idiomatic phrases, pronominal verbs, passive voice, advanced vocab
