Acoustic jam session. Bring your acoustic instrument to play some music!
Bring your acoustic instrument (guitar, harmonica, ukele, bongos, violin etc.) and the chords/lyrics of any music you want to play. If you are playing guitar, it would be useful if you could bring along a "capo" so we can be more versatile with changing key for the vocals. Vocalists are most welcome at the sessions i.e. you can come along simply to sing even if you do not play a musical instrument. Certain instruments may not be suitable because of volume levels (e.g. sax, trumpet etc.) but you are welcome to attend a session and we will see if the levels work or not. Recent recordings from the sessions can be found at the following Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jxe8bybp6jz9ti2/AACofZycXaEgL3rN3vtMuKwca?dl=0 Bring along any drinks or snacks you want for the evening. My flat is in the building north of the Lidl store and near the roundabout. The entrance to the block is immediately behind the bus shelter. Any problems give me a ring [masked]). There is a £1 cost per person for each of these session, payable on the evening. This is to cover the fee charged to me by "Meet up" to run these events (approx. £50 every 6 months). NOTE: If you RSVP "yes" then realise you cannot attend, please remember to change your RSVP to "no" so it frees up your place for someone else. Thanks.

What we're about

This is a group for any musicians in the Brighton area wanting to jam acoustic music e.g. acoustic guitar/bass, percussion, harmonica, vocals, string instruments etc. Any music genre could work but the focus is mainly on rock/pop/folk/blues/bluegrass. Feel free to bring along some songs you want to play, including any music you have written yourself! All skill levels are welcome.

I started this group because I love playing music with other people and I wanted to meet more local musicians. The group has provided an opportunity for musicians to collaborate and perform, and several bands have been created who are performing gigs in the local area.

The link below should give you an idea of what we are doing in these sessions (songs recorded in one take on a mobile phone during a jam session):
