What work are you doing now? What languages, frameworks are you using? Is it fun?

I predominantly working in the enterprise Java environment using Oracle WebLogic etc. I'm not a java developer but more so involved on the Infrastructure side. Build, deployment, and automation of these environments In the last 2 companies I've worked for I've introduced Ruby as an alternative to existing languages such as python and Perl and introduced ROR to provide reporting and monitoring on the daily tasks within the config team. On the rails side I've recently been experimenting with MongoDB, but I'm usually stuck with having to work with Oracle!! I really enjoy coding ROR and am looking to make the jump sometime away from the enterprise Java world and doing rails full time. I've never had the luxury of chatting to fellow ROR developers, and have pretty much being doing this alone since I started.

Arrived in Melbourne from the UK in September 2010 with my wife Maria, and in this last week have moved interstate and bought a house in Samford Valley QLD, North of Brisbane. I work for AXA, and specialise on the Oracle Fusion Middleware stack
