Re: [BFPG] Happy holidays from BFPG, see you in 2013

Hi all,

It's very exciting to see so many people put their hands up to help drive the group forward. I can't wait to see where it goes and will enjoy watching it from the audience.

Thanks again to everyone who has so actively supported the group since it was created. The community is what makes the group, not the organisers. Without the people coming along there would be no group. So thanks for making it what it is!

While I'm here, Merry <insert preferred celebration> to all of you. Have a safe break, stay off the roads as much as  you can. Make the most of the time with your families and friend. See you all in 2013.

All the best.
OJ

PS. Cheers Matty ;-)

Hi all,

Once again, the holidays have crept up on me...

Since OJ has retired from BFPG organisation, several members have volunteered to help take the group into 2013. I'll leave it to the next meetup to announce the new team. However, I will say that it's a testament to OJ's efforts to build the group, that we now have so many people eager to help!

To kick off 2013, we will have two talks:

Katie Miller will demystify some FP jargon, and will talk about making code more functional, no matter what language you use.

Nick Partridge will get into the nitty-gritty of translating object-oriented constructs (classes, methods) into functional programs.

Details, and RSVP here: http://www.bfpg.org/events/87030712/

See you there!
Matt
