Wheeling, dealing, blaster shooting, and high adventure among the stars; welcome to Scum and Villainy that is a recently released sci-fi adaptation of Blades in the Dark (the Forged in the Dark game mechanics). Instead of playing a gang of scoundrels vying to control the streets of a haunted industrial-city, you play a rag-tag crew trying to trying to make ends in a galaxy under the oppressive rule of the Galactic Hegemony. Scum and Villainy draws inspiration from Cowboy Bebop, Firefly, Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, Lexx, the Killjoys etc. As such, there will be heists, criminal syndicates, warring noble families, dangerous aliens, strange mystics, and the ruins of lost civilizations to exploit for fun, profit, and survival. https://www.evilhat.com/home/scum-and-villainy/
This will be a mini-campaign of up to 10 fortnightly sessions and during first session, the players chose a ‘stardancer’, which is the spaceship of more discerning black-marketeers, smugglers, and blockade runners. They also developed their characters and shortly after a bribe went awry, found themselves imprisoned and their stardancer impounded. Due to the time sensitive nature of their onboard cargo, the crew employed impersonation, hacking, misdirection, and persuasion to socially finessed their way out of prison but who is to say if they can talk their way out of trouble twice?
This will be our second session and returning players will receive preference since their familiarity with the rules speeds up the game and they can also help new players. Returning players, just join the waiting list and I will manually add you to the attendees list.
New players are free to choose their playbook and develop a backstory prior to the game or select a pre-generated character upon arrival but our aim will always be to start playing shortly after 2pm. If you have any queries, hit the comments below and the playbooks can be downloaded here https://www.dropbox.com/s/hmvosm8y4dh90xk/ScumAndVillainy-Player_Sheets.pdf?dl=0
