FW: [webcms-53] Changes...

Hi Y’all,

Thanks Craig on behalf of all BJUG members for taking on this task, and thanks also to Peter for getting the ball rolling again.

It is vital that the BJUG survives, and gives us all a chance to help one another where feasible.

I think it is a great idea if organisers can take it in turns for 6 month stints, as there is a bit of work involved in organising Meetups.

As someone who has been through the pain of upgrading from Joomla[masked] to 2.5.4 (still in progress), I really appreciate the help I got from various BJUG members.

My issues were template related, and I bought Artisteer which solved the problem, albeit with some shortcomings.

Well done Craig!

Best regards,

John Wilson,

Hi All,

as you're probably aware Peter has stepped down as the group Organiser after a brilliant start to the year.  I've been very grateful for the effort that Peter has put in to get the group rolling again as I'm sure you all are. The results speak for themselves - under Peter I've seen more people at the meetings than any of the previous meetings I've been to in Brisbane.

As I work with Joomla! everyday and love what the group can offer to members, I've signed up as the group organiser for the next 6 months.

First up I'm going to try and keep that momentum rolling by getting some feedback via a quick meetup Poll on subjects that may be of interest. To help with that please feel free to reply with suggested topics - I'll assemble the top ones into the poll and you can all vote on it for future meetup subjects.

I'm off to meet the Functions Manager at the Pineapple Hotel next week and confirm things with her and organise a date we can use for the next meetup. Given the short notice and that we're already in July I thought we'd aim for the 18 July, i.e. the third Wednesday of the month.

If you have anything else you want raised please let me know either via this mailing list or directly.

I look forward to seeing you all at the next meetup.

Craig Phillips
