Fire Twirling and Full Moon

Redlands Fire Twirling are hosting a Full Moon Fire Fest on Friday the 24th of May at Wellington Point, so it seemed like a good opportunity to get in some fire (and maybe moon) photos. (thanks Anniko for spotting this).  The Fire Fest starts officially at 7:30PM, but we will kick off earlier.

For those that missed the "Light Painting with Fire" meetup in February, this is also a good opportunity to shoot some Fire Orbs, Domes and Circles.

The full moon is actually on the Saturday night (25th), but it will be 98% full and rising at 16:15. Sunset is at just after 17:00  you may like to arrive a bit earlier to catch that too (I will plan to be there by 17:00).

There is a biggish High Tide (2.6m) at around 9PM, so we should also get some nice reflections.

Feel free to bring any of your Light Painting Toys....

As you have probably noticed, the beautiful morning has turned into a cloudy/showery afternoon. The forecast this evening is for more showers and the weather radar suggests this as well (although so far the rain seems to have been missing Wellington Point), but I don't think it will be too heavy - although we may need to dodge some rain.

The last time we planned this type of event we had a massive storm - which cleared beautifully for our photos.

Light painting is best after rain because you get extra reflections, and I actually like a good storm, so I don't plan on cancelling this event and will be there from around 5:00 (in case there is a half decent sunset).

I quite understand though if you don't feel inclined to brave the weather - particularly if you have a long way to travel.

It is likely to be cold and damp, so if you do come make sure that you bring something warm and dry :)

Hope you can still make it...

This will be my first meet up but I'm keen to come down and check it out. I don't have any water proof casing yet so it could be an early night for me. But looking forward to it :)

Hi everyone, will the night still go ahead if raining?

    May 22, 2013

If it is pouring or stormy probably not... but if it is just showering we will go ahead. I will make a decision by 4PM on Friday afternoon, but if you are not sure give me a call on[masked]
