*** Korfball cancelled due to Coronavirus. We hope to be back soon! ***
Korfball is a fantastic sport which has been taking the UK by storm over the past few years! A Dutch sport, 'Korf' quite simply means basket. Similar to Basketball and Netball, the sport is played around a tall post where quite simply, the most goals wins!
The big difference for Korfball is that it is the only truly mixed sport, where a team of 4 men and 4 women compete together on the same side. The men play the opposing men, and the women against the women. But it is how both the men and women work together that makes all the difference, and leads to the wins!
Bristol Hornets Korfball Club (HKC) (Formerly Horfield Korfball Club) has been active for quite a few years now and we are excited to be starting a new training session at the Shine Community Sports Hall. We are a very social club who are always looking forward to welcoming in new members. Whether you'd like to compete, or simply enjoy coming along for the fun of training, we can't wait to have you!
We will be training every Thursday 7pm - 8pm at the Shine Sports Hall starting from 2nd May 2019. Come along any time, the first 3 sessions are absolutely free!
We're in our off season at the moment, so training is a bit quieter making it the perfect time to come along and try out a new sport before it all kicks off again in August!
Check out the video at the youtube link for a little more insight into HKC! (
If you fancy getting in touch, you can find us on Facebook or get in touch at our email address in the poster. Conor our chair and James our secretary would be very happy to get back in touch.

The 2019/20 season got underway with the very first game for the newly named Bristol Hornets Korfball Club. Up against the runners up from last season, our second team had a tough and hard fought game and we held them back as long as we could. So pleased with how we played and a huge well done to one of our brand new girls who came away with the Most Valued Player award! There's a few photos, take a look!
The season might be underway, but if you're thinking of coming along don't worry it's always a good time to have new people at training!
Hornets 2 travelled away to Taunton on Sunday 27th October and recorded the first win of the season! Hopefully many more to come! It was a hard fought game with us putting up 12 goals to 7 against. Plenty scorers across the team. As always, we'd ove more people to get involved so give us a shout and come along to training if you're interested!
