Hi, I'm Danny. I moved to Bristol almost a year ago and Meet-up has been my go to place for social outings. Bristol is an amazing city with plenty to do. I took over this group to organise some nights out at the weekend, as well as other aventures in and around Bristol. If you'd like to get involved and organise some events please do get tin touch and I'll add you as an organiser.
This is not an event. It's a request for donations for the next 6 months subscription fees. If you enjoy Meetup and the events then please could you spare £1 using the PayPal link below. See you soon. Thanks. Danny.
The last walk we did was a great success so I've decided to do it again. For those of you new to Bristol or those interested in learning a bit about Brunel please join us.
Meeting at the Clifton Suspension bridge museum (X3/X4 bus goes nearby from bus station).
We'll take a quick look around the museum to see how the bridge was built. Then we'll walk over the bridge towards Clifton. We pass by the old Clifton Rock Railway and stop in at the White Lion for a drink. There's a great photo opportunity here of the bridge.
We'll then continue walking down the hill, following the river. We cross over where the harbour meets the river. This is where we'll see Brunell's other bridge (what's left of it).
We then follow the walking path along the South side of the harbour towards the M-Shed. We pass by the old pump house as well as SS Great Britain. We'll also pass Aardvark studios. There's also a few pubs along the way to grab a drink in should we choose to. We'll finish up at the M-Shed, home of the Bristol harbour side railway. Directly behind here are some fabulous eateries should anyone want to get lunch.
This is not a though walk and should be suitable for everyone. If you're new to Bristol, this is a great way to get to know some of the city.
Please note I'm not a tour guide, but I will bring some information with me on the day about all the places we pass.
I look forward to meeting you
We'll gather at the Grain Barge for a drink or 2 before walking towards the floating harbour. We'll hopefully call on to Steinbeck and Shaw for their half price drinks (5pm-8pm) and then no 1's for their BOGOF cocktails (b4 8pm).
From there we can continue along the harbour side towards V-Shed or Revolution de Cuba.
This drinking tour will hopefully let you experience some of the lovely harbour side pubs around Brisol.
The sausage and Cider fest returns to Bristol. Join me for a night of fun, food and drinks. These events are usually good fun.
At the minute tickets are £10 plus booking fee. You'll need to book your own ticket then RSVP on here.
I look forward to seeing you there.
