Using tools to manage WordPress

Two more great talks this month:

Ross Wintle
Getting started with Git - Part Two
Following on from Robs talk last Month and a big interest from the crowd, Ross will cover the next steps in using Git and how to use it with your WordPress projects.

Hannah Smith
Using Trello to get your WordPress work organised
Hannah will be showing us what Trello is and how to make use of it for your WordPress projects.

We will be in the pub (in the function room upstairs) from 18:30 and look to start the first talk around 19:00. There will be a break in between the talks and afterwards we will head down to the main pub for a drink and chat with anyone who fancies it.

This is a friendly group so if you have any questions on WordPress there is most likely someone who can help, so get chatting :)

We are always on the lookout for Speakers and any ideas people have - so please get in touch if you would like to do a talk, or have an idea for a talk.

Did someone say there was a slack channel for Bristol Wordpress People now? Does anyone have any instructions on how I can access it?

Thanks for sticking with me last night! I know I went on a bit. I've uploaded my slides here:

I was also asked to link to information about the iTerm/zsh terminal/shell thingy that I was using. This doesn't really work for Windows users but is great for Mac and Linux:

The public Trello board for the high-level roadmap that I mentioned is here:

And we also mentioned the use of Markdown in Trello. You may as well have a look here:

(And to bring it back to WordPress, for those that don't know, WP4.3 had SOME built in markdown-style interpretation:

Wow - lots of useful stuff. See you again folks!

Looking forward to seeing you all tonight.

Just wondering if anyone has any specific questions about Git or specific things that they'd like explained about it in my talk? I have lots of content, but the more relevant/useful I can be the better.

For those that don't know about Git, it is a developer-focussed tool, but I'm hoping you'll all learn something, or at least be entertained a little.

Hey Ross. Enjoyed the talk last night. I'm just wondering if you could post up the links on your last slide. I didn't get a chance to make note of them. Thanks.

Following on from Hannah's talk on Trello - this page could be useful: talks about those pesky back ticks for code blocks as well :)
