• What we'll do This class is informed by Josie's therapeutic approach to teaching yoga. Using a combination of yoga postures, mindful movement, breath awareness & relaxation practices. Space is given to explore postures & to encourage a deeper awareness of body & breath - which has so many potential benefits for physical and psychological health & wellbeing. This class would be suitable for people with injuries, returning to yoga after a break, wanting to improve energy levels, improve sleep, reduce pain, lessen worry, irritability, feel happier, reduce stress levels or simply have the desire to find space to slow down. • What to bring We provide all equipments but your welcome to bring your own mat • Important to know https://bristolyogacentre.co.uk/timetable/#tuesdays
Are you in your 50s, 60s or 70s (...or for that matter any age) and would like to exercise but can’t quite find what you’re looking for? Maybe the sweaty dynamic classes are just a little sweaty. And the gentle Yoga just a little too gentle. You don't want to do Yoga on a chair, but neither do you wish to do Yoga designed for twenty somethings. This new, focussed and functional class is specifically designed with you in mind. A carefully crafted blend of Yoga, Pilates and awareness practices that focuses on creating a sustainable and longevous movement practice, building deep postural strength, increasing bone density (did you know osteopenia/osteoporosis affects men too?), strengthening active range of motion, improving balance, coordination & proprioception skills as well as mental wellbeing. All that skills can improve your Yoga but can also help your game, your run and your cycle too. Suitable for all.
This is a weekly energising and relaxing Hatha Yoga class with Naomi. We will do wide range of yoga practices such as asana (posture), pranayama (breathing practice), meditation, Kriyas (cleansing techniques) and mudras (seal/gestures). We will also learn useful relaxation techniques. Suitable for all levels of students including beginners. Naomi has been teaching in Bristol since 2004 and owns and manages Bristol Yoga Centre. https://bristolyogacentre.co.uk/teachers-naomi
This class is based on faster flowing energetic movements in time with the breath (pranayama). Each class builds strength, flexibility and awareness throughout the entire body. The flowing nature of the class allows your mind to completely focus and relax through finding your rhythm in the practice. We end each class with time to rest, allowing you to absorb and feel the benefit of your practice. Beginners are welcome and modifications to postures are given to ensure the class is approachable for everyone. Shuna teaches range of vinyasa, hatha and yin forms of yoga. Her style of teaching is clear, accessible and entirely focused on creating a safe practice space where you can immerse yourself into your body.
