  • White Mountains, mts. Carters ( Mid / South), above 4000 ft, 10-12mi, moderate

Inspired by our excellent join hike with Brodyagi past weekend, I'd like to offer another hike in Whites : South and Middle Carters, both are in the NH[masked] footers list. It should be a nice scenic loop about 12 mi, or ~ 10 mi ( with two cars). The above pic is the view from the ledge on IMP. trail about two month ago, when we were not able to reach summits because of the deep snow and the absence of snowshoes. We should be at trailhead ( IMP trail) at 9.00 am, see link to map http://4000footers.com/cartermiddle.shtml For carpooling as usually: N93, exit 42, park&ride, 6.00 am Trailhead is located not far from Pinkham notch https://www.outdoors.org/lodging-camping/lodges/pinkham?utm_source=google-business&utm_medium=search-organic&utm_campaign=business-listings&utm_content=pinkham, so you can stay there overnight or in any camp nearby either in North Conway. I can provide more info about the camps later upon request

In 1859, industrialist William Pryor Letchworth (1823–1910) began purchasing land near the Middle Falls, and started construction of his Glen Iris Estate. In 1906 he bequeathed the 1,000-acre (4 km2) estate to New York, which soon after became the core of the newly created Letchworth State Park.[6][7] The park prominently features three large waterfalls – the Upper, Middle, and Lower Falls – on the Genesee River, which flows within a deep gorge that winds through the park. The rock walls of the gorge, which rise up to 550 feet (170 m) in places, prompted the area's reputation as the "Grand Canyon of the East".[8] Детали хайков добавлю позже. ------------- https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/new-york/genesee-river-gorge-trail?ref=sidebar-static-map Genesee River Gorge Trail is a 8.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Castile, New York that features a river and is rated as moderate.
