UMD Gamer Symphony Orchestra Concert

Hey everybrony, as some of you may know, I (Ethan R [Silent Sky]) am in an orchestra at the University of Maryland called the Gamer Symphony Orchestra. We do live orchestral performances of well-known video game music at a free concert every semester, and it's coming to that time of year again.

On Saturday May 4th, at 2pm, we will be having our spring concert, and we'll be playing lots of your favorite video game music. I'd like to invite all of you to come and enjoy yourselves, the concert takes place inside the Dekelboum Concert Hall at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on the UMD campus in College Park. Admission is free, and the music is good!

I legitimately flipped all of my shits when I herd that for the Encore they were doing a Shadow of the Colossus Medley.... right after I had just written down in the "What would you like to see in the future" section EXACTLY THAT!
It was like they read my MIND!!!!
I came for the Journey music, but left with so much more than I had ever expected.
I can easily say that I was audibly satisfied and left with ear drums full of pure justice.

That was awful. Nobody shouted FUS RO DAH like they did in the Skyrim trailer. Never going to another GSO concert ever again.

Kidding of course! You guys were just as amazing as I remembered!

I'll be coming on the Metrobus route C8, (when it's heading towards College Park.) Where should I get off the bus?

My choices are: Campus Dr. & one of these cross streets: Presidential Dr., Preinkert Dr., Library La., or Regents Dr.

    May 4, 2013

    • Ethan R (Silent S.

Get off at Presidential Dr. That'll put you closest to the concert hall.

Anyone interested, there is a Rocky Horror picture show staged and screened at midnight in the Hoff theater on the UMD campus, ten hours after the concert.

Okay so I would really like to go to the video game music concert with you guys, it sounds awesome! I will need a little bit of help to get around if I am able to go (I don't have a car) I will arrive by greyhound at 1:05 pm on Saturday. I can leave at 3:20 pm Saturday (probably not enough time to see the concert and get back to the station). I could also leave at 12:10 am (just after midnight Sunday morning) or 11:20 am Sunday.

I hope that I get to meet you guys, because you all are awesome! Brohoof /)

Yes; Green line to College Park. Then you can take the free Shuttle UM from the station to the student union, which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the performing arts center.
