Ponies and Dragons (4th ed DnD) no exp. required

I can't get enough ponies or Roleplaying so I'm combining the two into a DnD campaign. No Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition experience required. I will provide custom races (earth pony, pegasus, unicorn, dragon, and any suggestions that sound reasonable)

***PLAYER CAP IS 6 BUT...***

ANYONE MAY OBSERVE OR TAKE A REPLACEMENT SLOT IF SOMEONE IS NOT THERE. I MIGHT PROVIDE SOME NPC ROLES FOR EXTRAS TO PLAY. THE AMOUNT IS SESSION BY SESSION BASED, SO I CANNOT GUARANTEE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE.

The campaign itself will be set in the past during reign of the Crystal Empire. The players will be taking the role of fillys and colts growing up in a small town on the edge of a forest. The town is very nature based with both the forest and the town providing for and protecting each other. The town has its own major church based around the forest and nature. None of the players will have their cutie marks, but are in the same position as the Cutie Mark Crusaders at start (most friends have cutie marks, getting teased, banding together to support each other). So be thinking about, and have an idea of, what your cutie mark should be and mean. I also hope to mix in the elements of harmony so have some ideas on which you want to represent and be ready to adjust.

was fun, even though it took a few hours to chose a class XD

First time character creation always takes awhile. it goes faster once you've done it a few times, because you already have in mind what you want before you start.

  • Kenneth

1 hour early, later then I expected

    might be early :-)

Actually, I am not so sure I can make this anymore. Tomorrow is just looking really busy for me.

      That's disappointing

sigh... if you were playing 3rd edition I'd be in.

    March 6, 2013

    • Kris

Lol for every 3rd edition snob I pull out my good friend AD&D. Just about every complaint that "3rd is better" I can counter argue that 1st is better. The truth is each edition was made to be different and to offer something new and unique. None of them are actually "better" just different depending on the feel you want. Personally I've had a lot of fun with 4 and everyone I've played with has had fun with it, but that's not to say we have not had fun with 3 as well. Rant aside what makes you completely refuse to play 4th?

This is set long before main 6 were born...

That said, however, the spirit of pinkie is eternal and you can bring that character sheet. I have some ways to use it.

I'm not a big DnD fan, but I'm coming along anyways to hangout and maybe play some DnD. I'll be bringing my copy of Buck: Legacy for us extras to try out.

Might as well, I got nothing going on that day.

Considering it is walking distance I may come early, usually because I overestimate how ling it will take to get there

Daaaaaaaaaaaaang it! Player cap already reached. I could use some free entertainment. I might still consider coming though. How long are you guys planning on playing?

    March 5, 2013

    • Kris

I can go until sometime between 5-6pm when my other DnD group shows up for their weekly session, or whenever people decide they want to stop. I pretty much plan on being their the whole day dming lol.

I would like to try to make it to this. I can't make any promises since my schedule is so unpredictable, but I will do my best to come. I have never played DnD, even though I have wanted to for a while, so I will probably need plenty of help in understanding the mechanics of the game as we play. :)

No worries the start should be rules light and roleplay heavy

Oh no disrespect to the other meetup. I hadn't noticed their was another one on this day when posted this. This will be a continuous thing though, if it goes well, so there will be another for anyone wanting to go to castle and coasters or unable to make this one. ^^.

    March 4, 2013

    • Kris

So to make sure its been said and understood that I've said it, for anyone who can't decide between this or castle and coasters go to castles and coasters. I'll do this again soon if it goes well, and you can try to join that one.

    maybe

    March 1, 2013

    • Kris

Well the event itself is free, and the location is a game store so that's free. The only cost is the opportunity cost you incur by going and any travel expenses

      March 4, 2013

well in that case I think you have me in
