Who is your favourite mane cast pony, and (optionally) why?

Fluttershy. She shows an incredible change in how we perceive women in our media. While all of the girls in MLP have their own distinct characters, character attributes and flaws and motivations behind them, Fluttershy is my favorite because it can show something very important for everyone to consider: A strong female character filled with definition, confidence and capability can-and should-be allowed to be compassionate and gentle and sweet as she is. None of these traits are weaknesses to the female world, far from it. Yet our media intends to show that to be the case through cartoons, live-action and movies. Fluttershy. As a character, I love her. As a media and clutural trend, I love her. She says a great number of things can get better in time.

Hi, I'm Matthew Szlapka. I'm a huge fan of cartoons and media in general, but MLP has made a new place in terms of incredible children's programming for both girls and boys and I love it. With Asperger's Syndrome and all, I look to share my thoughts.
